SEO is on everyone’s lips, but what does SEO stand for and what does it mean? What are the goals of search engine optimization and with which measures can they be achieved? And what is the difference between SEO and SEM? This article is intended to shed some light on the subject in a comprehensible way and to provide newcomers to the topic of initial orientation.
SEO is Stands For ” Search Engine Optimization”
What Does SEO Stand for
SEO tries to get the website up to the top of search engine result page. Because the first three result gets up to 80 – 85% of the clicks of the traffic. This means that once the success has been achieved and a position is placed in 1-3 place, the SEO measure is highly profitable. In addition, no money has to be paid for this placement and the traffic (eg Google Adwords). SEO has already become part of the marketing strategy in many companies and it is hard to imagine life without it because search engine optimization contributes a lot to the success of a company. That’s why more and more companies are investing in search engine optimization.
SEO – What is it?
Search engine optimization consists of different strategies, because only a collection of keywords, which are housed on the page, it is not anymore. Because SEO takes a lot of time and patience, care and research, as well as commitment and you, have to stay on the ball. Loveless SEO will not lead to success. SEO differs from industry to industry as well as from webpage to webpage style.
SEO – What is important?
Very important in SEO is that you bring time and patience. Because with SEO, it can take weeks or even months before the implemented measure shows initial successes, as long as the selected strategy is really promising. In addition, the website should be appropriately designed, informative and with added value. Before SEO can even be started, some basic things are necessary or need to be clarified. These would include:
- Type of website (static, dynamic, blog, shop)
- Type of monetization (Adsense, Banner, Affiliate, own product (s))
- target group
- Writing style (should be as free from spelling mistakes as possible, orthographically correct, readable and interesting, address form “you” or “you”)
- Be accessible to the search engines
The listing is not exhaustive.
How does SEO work?
Since the space in this article is limited to this very extensive topic, I just want to talk about this question roughly. Sustainability is important for successful search engine optimization. One of the disadvantages of sustainability is that it does not take position 1 overnight, but takes time. To successfully implement SEO, the above points should be noted. In addition, the foundation of a website is the content and thus the on-page optimization. Only when the on-page optimization is completed.
- The content was available and was written accordingly in the “SEO” style of writing
- Title and description are filled out accordingly and the guidelines have been observed,
- the page structure and internal linking have been planned accordingly,
can be started with the off page optimization. This backlink are set so that the website is better for certain keywords, but also so that the Pagerank, the authority and relevance of the website increases. There should be more than 200 ranking factors.
Can you learn SEO?
Like almost everything in life, you can usually learn SEO as well. This takes time, patience and one should not be deterred by setbacks. Because SEO is based on experience, research and trying out. Because Google is always changing something in the algorithm. Sometimes Google announces the algorithm changes, but sometimes the changes become known through observations. That’s why trying out, observing, researching, reading, interacting with other SEO and online marketing experts certainly does not go wrong and allows one to learn search engine optimization.
How long does it take to learn SEO?
The duration, until you have learned SEO, is indefinable. There are several reasons for this.
- As so often, success depends on your commitment
- SEO is based on experience, research and observation
- There is always something new to learn
- SEO takes time and patience, or in other words, changes are not necessarily apparent from one day to the next (sorry, I repeat myself, but that’s really important!)
- Failures are successes to gain new insights from failures
Besides, the question is, how do you want to learn it? Do you know someone who does SEO? Then it will certainly be faster than if you teach yourself, but of course, that is possible.
How do I become an SEO expert?
First of all, what is an expert? Experts are people who have a very deep knowledge of a particular topic because they specialize in it. To become such an expert you need not only be able to recite the basics if you are awakened at 3 o’clock at night but have to be able to think outside the box. In addition, permanent education is necessary. This can be done in textbooks, journals, blogs from other SEO experts and companies, research, trying out, successes and failures, observations, SEO conferences and a corresponding understanding of these things, or to implement the knowledge in a strategy for specific websites.
What do you have to consider in SEO?
There are a lot of things to consider in SEO, I can not go into all this in this article and all the points are not known to me, because the topic SEO is very far-reaching. But to name a few:
- Take your time creating content and your website
- Think about good navigation, internal page structure and linking
- Be patient with successes
- Do not be deterred by failures
- Follow the Google webmaster guidelines
- Only use White Hat SEO (not “illegal” measures that promise a quick “success” but violate, for example, Webmaster Guidelines)
- Pay attention to short load times of the web pages
- Make sure your website can also be displayed properly on mobile devices
- Use SEO tools to uncover errors and optimization potential
This list gives you only a rough overview and is by no means exhaustive.
SEO – where to start?
If you start with SEO, then start by creating your website with the creation of content and on- page optimization and set the page structure and internal linking. In the beginning, it is certainly not wrong to fill your website with content. Therefore, content, content and again content is essential, so that the visitors of the visit to your website have something to quench their thirst for more information (added value). For some topics or search terms, you can already achieve good rankings with good on-page optimization.
When does SEO work?
The SEO measures may take different time. Most of the time the on-page measures have the fastest effect since you have this in your own hands. So you can affect the loading time relatively quickly and this has an immediate effect. But not on the ranking, but on the speed of loading time. Only with the next Crawling, Google could classify the change and thus shorter load time as positive and your side rises in the ranking. But the adjustments to the title, description and the content itself, can make relatively quick successes visible. Because even here Google can classify the changes as positive during the next crawl and this could have positive effects on the ranking.
Off page actions are also dependent on crawling. Google must crawl the corresponding website or sub-page and process the information regarding the set link before it can affect the ranking. In addition, it may be that changes in the ranking can only result in several links.
But the fact is that SEO can take up to 8 weeks or more to become effective and tangible. As a rule, it does not take so long, but the first successes can be visible within a few weeks or even days.
Why is SEO important?
SEO is important because search engine optimization is part of marketing. Because many people are on the Internet and they want to be reached and served. Revenues generated via the Internet are constantly increasing. Therefore, it is not surprising that more and more companies jump on this train and those who are already on this move, invest more in search engine optimization. In addition, the purchase intentions in the search queries on the Internet are much higher, because you can conveniently order and pay from home on a PC, notebook, tablet or even smartphone.
How Much Does SEO Cost?
A very difficult question, because what can success cost? It is important that you feel comfortable with the SEO agency, well advised and you can be shown a possible development plan, indicating a time horizon. Note here that a guarantee for placement on the first page under no circumstances can be given and certainly not a placement in the first three places. If you are guaranteed a placement, especially in the first three places, then it is either a not very competitive niche or it is simply a lie.
Why do I need SEO?
Now that some questions have been answered and a lot has been written, I think that’s why you need search engine optimization. But like to briefly summarize again. SEO is needed to
- to be found
- To bring traffic to his website
- To win customers
- Generate sales
- to be successful with his website
- balancing the balance between the output (money for marketing) and input (revenue due to the marketing campaign) or beating a benefit.
And for these reasons, you probably need SEO too.
I would be very happy if you appreciate my time and work and share the contribution. It’s just a small click for you, but a big help for me.
